Excessive Romanian Crime in the Netherlands

According to official figures of the Dutch ministry there are three Dutch persons jailed in Romania, in the Netherlands almost every day a Romanian  is caught for burglary,  skimming, fraud, ram raiding, robbing gangs, pocket picking etc or other kinds of crime.  Although  over 30.000  Romanians live in the Netherland only a handful of Dutch can be found in Romania.  This  ratio is far from being normal, since it is 1 to 100 or even more !  The same  holds for western-Europeans versus Romanians.

Some criminal acts are unprecedented in Dutch criminology, such as stealing wallets from Dutch people, who were gathering the coronation of Willem Alexander the  new  King of the Netherlands. A coronation is a once in a life time event.  During the moment in which the Dutch hymn - the Wilhelmus- was sung, Romanian pocket thieves stole wallets. Also the burning of paintings of Picasso by Romanian criminals  is without any doubt unprecedented in Dutch criminology.
